Hey guys,
So the insane project I started – digitizing my entire collection of records – continues. Truthfully, it shall probably continue for the next decade or so.
When I first started this insane task, I set myself an even more insane goal: be done by Christmas. Well, even if I did nothing but listen to records nonstop until Santa was up on my rooftop, there’s mathematically just not enough hours in the day to make this goal a reality. LOL. I hate math – never been good at it. But sometimes (I guess) it comes in handy!
Well, that said, now I’ve just given up and let go. It will never get done. It will remain ongoing. Forever and ever. Music lost in grooves. Spinning around my room. Forever.
And just when you make this realization a zen-like peace takes over and you realize nothing really matters, time is an illusion, and you just keep on going. One record at a time.
Then, you pick up a disc to be digitized, and lo and behold: a limited edition Minnesota Valley Canning Company record, compliments of the Jolly Green Giant, on the event of his 20th Birthday, made in Le Sueur, Minnesota and featuring lost recordings by Fred Waring…
Then, dear friend, you listen and realize all is well with your soul.
Cheers,
Jack
