Is This Bob Dylan’s “Best” Song? [VIDEO]

Growing up in Minnesota there’s a few truths I learned over the past hundred years. If you’ve never been to the Land of 10,000 Lakes, I’d like to share with you these truths right now. They are as follows:

  1. It’s cold eleven months out of the year, ten of which you’ll be trapped in snow.
  2. The smartest Minnesotans live in Florida, Texas, or Arizona.
  3. Most coffeeshops serve a thing called Lutefisk Lattes, which is a latte made from lutefisk (which is dried cod cured in lye).
  4. If you stick your finger in a Lutefisk Latte (to see if it’s too hot to drink), sometimes your fingernail will fall off (thanks to the lye).
  5. Tater Tot Hotdish is beloved (and for good reason).
  6. Everyone is unnaturally obsessed with Prince (and for good reason).
  7. Minnesotans will remind you that Bob Dylan is from here – every few minutes, even when the conversation has nothing whatsoever to do with Bob Dylan. But seriously, did you know he’s from Minnesota?!

This is one of my favorite Bob Dylan songs. Fun to sing. Here’s a video that Kitty directed and I filmed with our good friend Leah moving and grooving. Don’t ask me why we made this. I probably had drunk too many Lutefisk Lattes and thought these visuals somehow made sense for the song.

What do you think?

Now’s the time when I say goodbye and try to use my catchphrase: if the good Lord’s willin’, and the creek don’t rise I’ll see ya again real soon.

Cheers,
Jack
